Dianne and Riccardo

I often get to see sunrises these days, but this past weekend I had the opportunity to spend one with Dianne and Riccardo. These two are getting hitched next month, and I am quite excited about getting to be there to document their day. We had a wonderful time on an early morning shoot in the heart of Boston. It’s not often you see the streets around Faneuil Hall completely empty, so it was fun to explore the space without having to worry about folks getting in your shot.

Dianne and Riccardo have so much great energy and were a joy to work with. I’m looking forward to sharing with you all a glimpse of their wedding in just a few weeks. But for now, enjoy!

Dianne & Riccardo — It was wonderful getting to spend some time with you guys, looking forward to the wedding next month!

YoungJi + Sam, Boston, March, 2012

It has been quite a while since I’ve had the chance to take engagement photos (folks up here in Boston don’t much want to go outside in the winter, much less get their picture taken while outside), but it’s finally started to warm up a bit, and I was very excited to be able to take YoungJi and Sam’s photos. They are getting ready to travel to Korea next month to tie up their nuptials, and it was great to get to spend some time with them and hear a bit about their story. They had the perfect amount of goofiness and style to make the afternoon so so SO much fun. We waited all afternoon for a bit of sun, and what do you know, just before the day was up, we got just enough to make us giggle with excitement. Anyways, here are some photos from our afternoon together. Enjoy!

Thanks YoungJi and Sam for being so wonderful :)

February Love

It has been a LONG time since I’ve really written much on here.

I haven’t even been posting photos recently… I apologize. (Oh, what a presumption to think you’re hurt by this! — Though I know there are a couple of you out there who have been patiently awaiting more posts/photos.. *cough*mom*cough*)

But I have a quick announcement:

I don’t have any new photos to share with you this second… but in the spirit of February (you know, the month with that Hallmark holiday that I as a single male continue to look forward to every year :P), I am offering a $100 discount on all engagement sessions booked this month. That means the normal $350 rate is now $250! And for those of you wondering, if you also book me for a wedding, you still get the discount that comes with that. I really love being able to get to know folks through these photo shoots, and I’d love to you help tell your story!

So tell your engaged friends! Book an engagement session this month and receive a $100 discount!

Shoots can be tailored in a number of ways to make it your own, so get in touch and we can discuss/brainstorm.

Cheers
scot

Brandi & Danny, November, 2011

For those of you who regularly follow my blog, you should be somewhat familiar with Danny, as he has been in numerous photos, has taken numerous photos on here (by assisting me), has provided opportunities for me to take photos (by my assisting him), and has even taken the occasional photo of me (though I don’t share those often).

Well Brandi is the love of his life, and though I haven’t gotten to spend tons of time with her, I’ve heard TONS about her. And I think one time Danny said something that wasn’t amazing about her, but I can’t remember. They are such wonderful humans and just a joy to be around. I’m excited to get many more opportunities to hang out with the both of them.

It was also such a huge honor to be able to photograph them, as I have been such a fan of Danny’s work since day 1 that I met him/saw it.

Anyways, to the photos!

So excited for you guys!!!

Rachele & Dustin, Boston, MA

Rachele is, in a way, responsible for my coming to Dorchester/Codman Square. I’ve known her for quite a long time, and back in our college days we had some great conversations about urban development, diversity, gentrification, and how hope can fit, and really begin to envelope, places that are cast in the shadow of hard times. Years later we’re still both connected to the community of Codman Square, though I don’t know if either of us thought we’d end up here… Funny how things work out like that.

Through her move to Dorchester, Rachele met a man named Dustin, and it didn’t take long before the magic started between these two. It’s been awesome getting to know Dustin and getting to know them together. I’m excited for what life has for them, as they are both people with deep hearts and grand visions. And they are a ton of fun. Ton. Of. Fun.

You guys are awesome. Looking forward to Juneeeeee :)

Rachel & Jon at the MFA, June 2011

Rachel and Jon have been pillars in my life since I moved to Boston. They are part of my family here. I really don’t know what I would have done without each of them. Thus it has made it all the even more exciting to see their relationship begin and move and change and grow. They are people of immense love & generosity, for one another and for those around them.

It was wonderful for me to journey with them back to one of the places it began by going to the MFA. The first time Rachel recognized that Jon was trying to woo her was on their “date” to the MFA. So this past weekend we went and spent some time at one of my favourite art exhibits to date — Through the Looking Glass. Chihuly is a master of glass and light, two things that equally photography, so I couldn’t have been more ecstatic for the shoot.

We had a great time taking in the magic that Chihuly’s pieces create. Though there is no way to fully capture it, I think the glass & light also helped bring out the magic that these two truly, madly & deeply share…

Love you guys. Can’t wait for the wedding in October! :)

Deanna & Josh

This past weekend I had the wonderful opportunity to spent a couple hours with Deanna and Josh. It was a blistering morning, but with the upcoming marathon, Boston decided it was time to begin to bloom, so we were able to catch the beginning signs of the colors of spring. We had a fantastic time wandering about the gardens & commons, and even made a walk out to the end of the pier despite the freezing wind. It was great to spend some time with Deanna and Josh as I’ll be photographing their wedding in July and it is ideal to have time with folks before that big day comes, just so they are more comfortable with me and can know what to expect from the way I do things. It was a blessing to be around them though, and I really look forward to being able to document their big day!

Anyways, here are a few photos, enjoy!
